  : Not much - our stay was spoiled by our check in experience
  : We arrived at the hotel, very tired, after after walking a full day on the Camino. We were excited to finally be able to spoil ourselves with the hotel. Imagine our surprise when we were told that they overbooked, and did not have a room for us. This is after I went online through a third-party vendor, as they had request and prepaid for the room via a different link than booking. The woman didnt even tell us what was going on, but continued talking on the phone. For all we knew she was talking to a friend. After about 20 minutes, we asked her if she could check is in, and she sort of explained that there was no booking for us. She said she had no room for us. Then she proceeded to talk on the phone for 15 minutes longer. We were obviously very tired and getting frustrated. At this point I expressed this to her. She obviously didnt want the people behind us to witness our frustration and she directed us into Julie breakfast room to wait while she sorted out the problem. We assumed she was inviting us in to relax and have a coffee for our inconvenience. as I went into the washroom, smelled horrible, like sewage, my aunt went to pour herself a coffee. The receptionist ran in and told her to stop that she was not allowed to coffee. This was very disappointing and prove to us that as stated on the screen above the reception, customer service, and comfort was not the priority of this hotel chain. After an hour, she managed to give us a room and did not even apologize for the inconvenience. Unfortunately, we were so looking forward to this day hotel finally after walking on days the Camino and this ruined the experience for us. Also, there is a blinding light pouring into our window all night that we could not block out. I contacted the hotel to let them know about our experience and we never heard back; no apology or response. We had many opportunities in the next few weeks to book hotels, and believe us, the Alda hotel chain was never again considered nor will it be

  : The staff were very friendly & helpful.The room & bathroom were spotlessly clean.The bed and pillows were comfortable.The hotel was located within a short walk to the "old town." We found free parking in the street nearby.
