  : We loved staying at the Albanus Phillips Inn, and we would recommend it to anyone looking for a B&B rich in history and architecture. I originally saw the photos on Booking.com and thought it looked wonderful. After we arrived, we realized it is even more wonderful than imagined. The house is a carefully restored and richly decorated mansion originally built by one of America's leading industrialists. You can learn all about the history of the house and the town of Cambridge from Mr. Harwood, the current owner of the Albanus Phillps Inn, who is also the host at the B&B. We enjoyed long discussions over coffee and homemade breakfast with Mr. Harwood.There are about eight uniquely styled bedrooms in the Inn, each restored to its original style. We stayed in the Empress Suite, and loved the rich textiles and international artifacts. We had a large private bath with ample hot water. The bed in the room was very comfortable. The furnishings were fun and comfortable. The room is very spacious.Breakfast is prepared onsite and served in a dining room shared by all of the guests. This was a highlight of our stay, meeting other guests and listening to stories from the host. The Inn is also in the perfect location, within walking distance to all of the key sights of downtown Cambridge and Long Wharf.
