Disappointing

  : The cabin itself, and the private setting of our particular cabin, was nearly ideal, surrounded on 3 sides by wooded and brush areas. and a brook beside us, with regular visits by families of deer, groundhogs, and pileated woodpeckers. The breakfast at the lodge (temporarily provided at the conference center) rivaled Cracker Barrel in its variety and overall quality, and, was, in a word, satisfying. The grounds of the park are kept amazingly well, and preparations were in progress for special seasonal and halloween programs. The staff, in nearly all cases, went above and beyond in trying to make our stay (and presumably everyone else's) pleasurable and comfortable. Special THANKS to the property manager (Mike or Matt?), Alexander, the campground couple that delivered our firewood, the dining room ladies,and the young front desk clerk, for at least trying to make our stay palatable.
  : We did arrive early, but despite most cabins having been empty, judging from the absolute lack of vehicles in the driveways, we were forced to wait 3 hours, for our cabin to be readied. Upon checking in to the cabin, we discovered the telephone, living room cable, electric fireplace, and wifi did not work. We used cell phones to communicate with the front desk and staff, and a property manager spent @ 1.5 hours in our living room the first evening, getting the cable and fireplace operational. The next day, 2 Spectrum and 1 park employee (Alexander) spent >1.5 hours at our cabin attempting to get the wifi working, to no avail. Neither the wifi, the phone, nor 2 electric outlets (bathroom and kitchen) worked during our brief stay, and I find it difficult that previous occupants hadn't mentioned these problems. I asked for an adjustment to my bill, given the amount of time spent with staff instead of enjoying our limited time (40 hours) at the park, and the absence of features that are supposed to be included. I received a 10% discount, which I personally considered an affront.

  : The location was beautiful. Beautiful sitting area.
  : The lodge sitting area could have been cleaner. The heat was on and it was very warm out of your room.. the ac in the rooms worked though. No cream for coffee. The breakfast took 1hour 15 minutes to get food. I want to give grace because of the eclipse added extra traffic mid week, but its not like we didn't make reservations in advance. It would have been nice if they planned for it. Other then that it was very nice.

  : It allowed me to not have to sleep in a tent.
  : My room had no soap and the free breakfast was a decent distance from the rooms. Also, the whole property is very aged and appears to be falling apart.

  : View of Ohio River valley from lobby. However, they let vegetation grow in front of the windows so it was hard to see out.
  : Could not connect to the wi-fi. Loud equipment was running outside of our room. Bathroom sink was located outside of bathroom. Room temperature was about 65F when we checked in. Door key gave us a red light.. Door latch was malfunctioning.
