  : Most of the staff at the hotel were very friendly- reception in the evening and in the morning were friendly and the morning reception person was full of useful advice and helped us when we had no breakfast by telling us where to get some, and at the swimming pool the staff was lovely. The swimming pool was open in the morning which was great.
  : The swimming pool was closed at 6pm- yet all around the hotel, the closing time was advertised as being 9 pm. This was very disappointing- it is why we picked the hotel in the first place. In the morning, the sauna was closed and the steam room didn't work well- a local had to show us how to get the steam room working. In the evening we went to the restaurant- the menu was not the menu on the tables but a shortened menu, but there was only ONE menu available and we were told someone else had that. We, therefore, had to ask the person serving what food they had, which was odd. We ordered and then my partner changed his mind- within 10 seconds of ordering. The server told him he couldn't change his mind as he had already ordered- this was bizarre. When he explained that he would rather have a sticky toffee pudding, he was told there wasn't any and everything he mentioned was 'not available'- we wondered if it was to show him that there was no point changing his order. The person serving was polite but not polite all at the same time- she was beyond jobs worth, as we should be able to change orders within 10 seconds. We asked how long the food would take, and she said it would be very quick, but it took half an hour- again, an odd thing to say. If she had been honest and told us it would be half an hour, that would have been fine. Later I went to ask her something and she was eating a takeaway at the bar- again, a bit odd. The fish and chips were fine but the vegetable curry was like cardboard and was tasteless. In the morning we turned up for breakfast but there wasn't any! A man behind the bar said there was no chef. Families with small children were being turned away and the man behind the bar didn't seem to be sorry or care- his words said sorry but his tone did not. The room was clean but the leisure centre changing rooms were grubby and it was only 8 am, so no one had come in and made them grubby- they just hadn't been cleaned.

  : The room was as advertised but the door to the room was broken so we had to use the patio door as the main entrance/exit. The bathroom door was also broken.
  : To call this a hotel is misleading. It is like a council block on a Parkdean holiday resort, surrounded by static caravans and the type of people that frequent them.
