  : What a gem of a hotel. The rooms were clean, beds really comfortable, breakfast great and hotel staff very helpful. Couldn't fault the hotel.

  : The hotel staff were pleasant. They are a family owned business and so I would like to support that. Their dog Tony was there sometimes and is a really gentle sweet dog. Breakfast was good. We had two rooms: a quad and a double. The quad was a nice room aside from the safe not working properly. Location of the property is very good. 15 min walk or less from just about all major attractions. Was able to walk to and from the train station.
  : The double room was poor. Initially we were in room 106. It smelled like a sewer and the air conditioning was broken. They gave us a couple fans for that night and were nice enough to move us up a floor to 206 the next day. The sewer smell was possibly even worse in that room. The safe didn’t work. The toilet seat was not screwed on properly and was falling off. Water pressure on floor one was amazing. It was so powerful that I had to reduce the pressure or else it hurt! On floor two the pressure was so poor that it was hard to shower normally. The beds were not all that comfortable. You sink in so deep it felt like I was laying in a bath tub (i.e. the bed engulfed both sides of me).Also, a note regarding the smell. They told me it related to the sewers of Florence. I don’t believe that is the case. The bathroom doors were always kept closed. If the smell originated in the bathroom then it would hit you like a punch in the face. But the bathroom actually had less of a smell than the room itself. It seems to impact a certain section of the building. 106 and 206 are above/below one another and both smelled awful. It might be worth renting a couple of the quad occupancy rooms just to avoid the stink of those double rooms… Then again I have only smelled one quad occupancy room so YMMV.

  : The service was great, the room was clean and spacious, and the breakfast was more than adequate. The hotel is located in a very central part of Florence, with many bus stations within 2 minutes' walk, and most of the major city attractions within 20 minutes' walk.
  : Naturally, the street the hotel is located in is quite busy, and as our room was on the first floor, this meant that a lot of automobile noise was heard in the mornings. Better sound insulation would have been appreciated.
