  : Hotel Aeolos is named for the God of Wind. And rightly so. It is located almost at the top of the hill of the port town, Aghios Georghios. And the wind did howl! There are, however, the most stunning views out over the port, neighboring islands, the wind-swept seas. Our ferry off the island was canceled due to the high winds, so we had to stay another 2 nights beyond what we had planned. Fortunately this was not a problem. Owner Michael is the highlight of this hotel. Seemingly somewhat gruff at first, but quick to smile once you are settled in, he offered to drive us anywhere we wanted to go on the island, entertained us with local and family lore, single-handedly prepared our breakfasts and delicious dinners (he is a wonderful chef) and we soon became devoted fans. He is truly a gem of an innkeeper and one of the hardest working people on the planet.
  : It is a long hike up the hill from the town. Seems a bit overpriced for a 2star. No comfortable place to hang out other than your room or balcony (be sure to ask for a room with a large balcony) or the restaurant terrace, both of which can be windy if there is a blow going on.
