  : Check-in was very easy and Covid friendly (no contact). The hosts were very nice in letting us check in early! Great location close to panoramic views and tram stop, comfortable bed, good shower!
  : You can hear everything amplified from the apartment upstairs (footsteps were very loud and it was a bit inconvenient for sleeping in)

  : The property did not offer value for money. The location was good, but overall sound interference from neighbouring flats made it difficult to relax. The shower ran out of hot water after 1 shower. The apartment 'looked' nice though.
  : The shower ran out of hot water after 1 shower. As two people, this was inconvenient. The apartment was damp and very noisy, loud music as well as sneezing and moving of furniture could be heard as though amplified. Kitchen had no sharp knife and lacked other basic bits of equipment.

  : The location is great
  : the staffs response after requesting that the passage light and bedside lights bulbs be replaced and that the noise issue be attended to. There are reviews going back many years, stating the same issues with lighting, the door key entry that does not work and the noise levels. This apartment is not suitable for a holiday let. We have stayed inAlfama annually for the past 5 years and never experienced what we experienced in any other neighbourhood apartment like this so called Gem. it is not a Gem. The only thing good about iit is its location, but then any apartment in Alfama has a good location.

  : Overall the stay at Gem of Alfama was good. The location was central and was within walking distance of a lot of restaurants, bars etc. I think this is a nice property to stay in and is very spacious. The hosts were pretty responsive and I didn't have too many issues staying in the property.
  : A few things to note about getting to this property and the neighborhood: 1. Taxis can get you closer to the property but Ubers cannot enter into the neighborhood. 2. There are a lot of stairs and a lot of the Uber drivers and taxis don't know which side to drop you on that is best 3. There is graffiti on the walls that are not very welcoming to tourists 4. If you have done your research on Portugal you should be aware that mold is an issue and heating is not very common in most homes. This place has a portable heater and there were signs of mold in the bathroom. 5. The neighbors are very loud. I mean VERY LOUD. They would argue almost daily.

  : This place was bad. Firstly, it's in a terrible location with no parking. Expect broken items, some of which are poorly restored. Upon arrival, you'll be bombarded with a form demanding all your personal details, including a photo of your ID and a credit card for deposit. And don't think about asking for help there's no reception, and the staff seem to vanish when you need them. I tried calling with a simple question the night before my stay, only to be rudely dismissed because they were "off duty." Zero follow-up, zero interest in helping guests. It's astonishing that anyone would rate this place positively. Save yourself the trouble and find somewhere else to stay.

  : Nothing, this is the worst place we stayed at ever.
  : Theres no air conditioning, even though they say there is. They provide a dusty fan and a useless air purifier. When its 30+ degrees outside the apartment becomes impossible to live in.The air quality is awful, after one night there my partner had breathing problems. The rugs on the floor are smelly and dusty, theres mold on the walls and the air is dump. I do not recommend staying there if you value your healthy.You can hear how your neighbours walk and sneeze, the walls are thin and you will need to use earplugs to sleep well.The photos are photoshopped - it is NOT that spacious and bright. It is unpleasant to stay in.
