Beautiful & Unique Alfama Flat

Disappointing
Traveller Type: Traveling as Couple
  : Air conditioner worked and washing machine is a plus. We stayed during extreme and record breaking heat and the AC was a lifesaver. Despite leaving early due to excessive disturbances listed below, the hosts were responsive and I was partially refunded.
  : STAIRS. The apartment was on the top level and there is no elevator in the building. The stairwell is extremely narrow and rubbish was right outside of our unit making a tight fit to enter. The alley is dirty and smelly - expect to see poop and trash. The bathroom is small and somewhat unfinished. The walls are thin and the neighborhood is VERY loud. Constant dog barking at all hours of the day and night and you can hear yelling from the workers below. There is some kind of inventory warehouse at the base of the building for the nearby restaurants. We expressed our concerns to the host who explained this as part of it being a historical building and district.

  : They put wine on our table which it was very nice. Everything was clean and well presented and kitchen was very well stocked.Comfortable living room to relax after a long day of exploration. Highly recommended
  : 4th floor with very tiny stairs, its easy to see into the bathrooms window from outside. The flat is a bit hidden in a dark alley so it doesnt look very inviting but once inside its very beautiful experience

  : Great location and very comfortable, clean apartment for a short stay (city break). Well equipped kitchen.
  : Check-in process extremely complex - worth to revise it. Plenty of emails received prior to arrival and instructions difficult to follow if you are during a longer trip and do not have time enogh to spent on readings.

  : The location was great.
  : The check in instructions were long. Having landed late at night, the whole process became a bit much. The apartment is on the 4th floor so if you have big bags, it is a struggle.
