  : What did I like!!! Nothing. On arrival we were told that the accessible room I had requested had been given to someone else. We were offered a non accessible room on the first floor as an alternative. As I am disabled, unable to walk distances or climb stairs and in need of oxygen regularly, I would have found it very difficult to stay in a room accessed by a narrow steep staircase. Assistance was offered, but this was not the point. I had booked an accessible room, had written and verbal proof that it was booked but they had let it go to someone else.
  : The fact that the owner stated that she hadn't been informed that we had booked the ground floor accessible room, even though I presented her with written evidence. I forgot to inform her that a member of staff had also confirmed the room with me on the Thursday prior to our arrival, when I contacted the hotel to book a table in the restaurant for Saturday evening. The booking must have been written down somewhere, so I don't know why she had to be informed? In the end it meant a ruined surprise 70th birthday present for my wife and a 45 mile round trip wasted journey.

  : Nice old pub with a decent sized carpark. Room was clean and well appointed, staff were friendly and helpful. Food in the restaurant was very good and the bar/restaurant area was very nicely furnished. I would recommend this as a place to stay over and/or go for an excellent meal.
  : Continental breakfast included in the price was OK but perhaps a bit basic - Cooked breakfast was excellent but a little expensive as an add on cost.

  : Road traffic quite heavy throughout night, but its an old coaching inn situated on edge of a main road, so noise must be expected
