Traveller Type:
: It is a beautiful art deco style home that has been tastefully furnished with artistic flair. The breakfasts, prepared by Adriana, were excellent, and were styled to provide an experience of Sicilian food. There was an emphasis on homemade products, which were of a very high quality. The hosts were exceptional: warm, friendly, good humoured and accommodating. Maria, especially, was the best host we have experienced. She immediately moved us to a different room when I indicated my brother and I needed separate bedrooms. She was constantly checking to see if we needed anything to make our stay more enjoyable and provided many gems of information about Sicilian culture and food. The fact we are of Sicilian heritage made a special connection. There is an arrangement with the excellent Domia Boutique Hotel for Villa Flora guests to use the hotel swimming pool and obtain a discount when dining at its fine dining restaurant, which is focussed on reinventing traditional Sicilian cuisine. The meal there was most enjoyable.
: These are not really dislikes, but cautions. It can be a little difficult to get to the property, as it is in a private estate with a number of gates, and access to the property is only via one gate, and the vehicle sat nav has a habit of directing the driver to the wrong gate, using shorter routes. However, the co-host, Nino, provided very good directions to ensure we went to the correct gate. The two bedroom & one bathroom accommodation we occupied consisted of a separate bedroom and a sofa bed in a small living area. This was adequate for our needs, but there was only one air-conditioner, which was in the main bedroom. There was a fan in the other room, but it remained warm during the night. There are bigger rooms available, which would be advisable if separate rooms are required.
