  : The sea front location and other rooms . The Roker does have nice rooms at a fair price range.Unfortunately, their standard rooms are not up to standards you expect of a four star rated hotel. In fact you are better placed at other well known hotel groups.and you get a far better experience.On arrival we were allocated a standard double room. It was the The basement area of the hotel. And had to negotiate and obstacle course of up and down stairs.The room was to hot,there was no air conditioning, and only a small fan. Our view was an emergency staircase and a dirty window.We were too tired to complain.We did order room service which arrived some 30 mins later.The food was disgusting. My wife's took one look at her food and said,this looks like dog food.Absolutely disgusting. My food a simple burger was half cooked and cold.I immediately called reception and demanded they come back to the room to remove the items and a total reimbursement of the 40 we had paid.I have stayed a few times over the years at the Roker.It's losing its appeal.We will definitely not book a standard room with these again.Booking .com has its part to play too.It gives the impression that the room you are booking is spacious and comfortable. This is not a standard room its a sea front suite.
  : The Roker is a nice hotel.its on the sea front. Seaburn beach is only a five min walk away.Some rooms are excellent. The bar area is nice.The restaurant can sercmve nice food.

  : The room was covered in dust ..the skirting board was thick and I doubt anything had been moved when hoovering There were used milk pots in the cupboard We stayed here especially for the breakfast which used to outstanding however very disappointed with the buffet style set up nothing was refilled quickly and spent time hanging around waiting and it wasn't cheap !!!Reception staff were perfect however breakfast staff all looked like it was there 1st morning Unfortunately we won't be returning

  : Work being carried out directly outside our bathroom window ,not told about this .workmen could see directly in ,was loud and swearing .unable to shower on second day due to this

  : The location on the sea front was great. The room cleaners were very friendly and helpful.
  : Breakfast was terrible, dried up by 8am!! Rooms could be a bit cleaner as a 4star hotel. Asked for cocktails and didn't have ingredients for some and overpriced for syrup based drinks !! Also upgrade to seaview room extortionate, would practically double the price and having looked in the room, yes they are slightly bigger and you can see the sea.
