  : The location was perfect - right by the Rialto bridge so there was lots to do in the evenings with regard to food and drink. Easily walkable to all the major sights. We splashed out on a water taxi because we had lots of luggage (it will set you back 140 from the airport) but it is less than 5 min walk from the water bus stops. The staff were polite, the room was clean with a lovely big bathroom. The entrance was secure. The continental breakfast was lovely with a big spread and you could squeeze your own orange juice which was delicious.
  : The door of the shower unit was not attached properly so it was a big frustrating but it didn't leak and the shower itself was hot and powerful. The AC was only working in fan mode. I would have liked the coffee to be stronger in the morning - a minor point to some but important to me! I got a few mosquito bites despite the mosquito-repellant device in the room - I guess this is to be expected in the heat when near the water - so remember your anti-mozzie spray!

  : I was woken up by heavy construction noise right outside my window at 7:30am after my first night. When I enquired about this I was told it usually finishes by 10:30am. But by 1:30pm it was still going and there was nobody on reception so I decided to move to a new hotel. I asked via email for a refund of one night of a three night booking, which I thought was fair. The ensuing email chain was full of contradictions: the proprietor first claimed they had been notified of the construction noise the morning it took place and that it was a once off in preparation for further work to be carried out the following month; but then after I mentioned the staff on duty had made no mention of this I received another email claiming they had not been notified at all until after I had left. At one point I was told that if I had specified at check-in that I wished to actually sleep in my hotel room then maybe they could have done something about it. Of course they never even mentioned the refund again, despite being approached both directly from me and from booking.com. So - if youre considering this hotel between May and July 2024 you may want to reconsider as from what I was told theres likely to be extensive, noisy renovation work in the adjacent building. And f you do happen to end up staying here then be sure to tell them you actually want to sleep at the hotel - apparently this is not something you can reasonably assume.
