  : The location of the Seehof is hard to beat. The views of the Walensee are amazing, and its proximity to the lake and hiking trails is fantastic. The staff are also very accommodating, and despite our minimal command of German we were able to communicate just fine with the front desk and restaurant staff.
  : The proximity to the lake is a double-edged sword. If you visit during the summer, it's a good idea to keep the windows open at night to cool off the room. That creates an opportunity for bugs to come in off of the lake if you have any lights on, and they will congregate around ANY light that you have on in your room, even a laptop screen. So you have to plan accordingly.The lake is also an attractive gathering spot for locals and almost-locals, which means that the area around the hotel can get noisy at night - especially on the weekend. It was a bit frustrating listening to kids rev their motorbike engines and play loud music through windows that we had to keep open to keep the room cool. It usually quieted down around midnight.
